The mayonnaise itself doesn’t have much color. However, it contains oil and eggs, which can easily stain fabrics due to the oily film left behind.
Removing stains is not that difficult if you know a few insider tips. This is quick and cheap and you often save yourself the trip to the dry cleaners.

- Potato flour
- Gall soap
- Sparkling water
This is how you can successfully remove stains!
If you want to remove mayonnaise stains from your sofa, try putting a few drops of
dish soap on the stain first. Leave it on for a moment, then gently rub it out with a damp cloth or under running water. Alternatively, you can try stain remover. Apply this to the dampened stain and leave it on for a few minutes or overnight.
Another home remedy for removing mayonnaise stains is
potato flour. Sprinkle the stain with potato flour, then allow the flour to work before brushing with a household brush.
Gall soap, which you can buy cheaply in the drugstore, also works. Dampen the stain and soap and rub the soap bar over the stain. Then rinse the stain under running water.
This is how
water helps against stains. If you weren’t successful, use plain mineral water with as much carbonation as possible to rinse out the stain. The carbonic acid dissolves the stains more easily. Fresh stains that have not yet dried can often be removed quickly and easily with sparkling mineral water. For small stains, a few drops on the upholstery chair are enough.
The stain can only be removed with

Step 1: Scraping
If the chair cover can be removed, for example, place a piece of cardboard under the stain as soon as possible to avoid making it worse and also spread the stain around. Scrape the excess mayonnaise off the fabric with a spoon or butter knife, being careful not to rub the stain deeper into the fabric.
Step 2: Rinse
Rinse the dirty area with cold running water for 4-5 minutes to begin the mayonnaise stain removal process.
Step 3: Pre-treat
Pre-treat the stain with a mild, grease-dissolving dish soap (or a grease-dissolving pre-treatment detergent) by putting a few drops on the stain. That should work!
