What to expect honestly

Can we use the stairs while they dry?
Lightly and in clean socks, yes. Shoes on damp pile re-soil it instantly.
Only the bottom three steps are gray. Clean just those?
They will look newer than the rest — clean the flight. The bottom steps gray first because they collect ground-floor grit.
Our stairs are wool carpet. Different process?
